Hi There!
I’m Christine Selinger, an award-winning expert on accessibility and a consultant focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility education. I'm also an instructional designer and artisan. I provide services on contract in Calgary, Alberta or via virtual (i.e., online) methods.
All About Me
I sustained a spinal cord injury at the age of 19, and have been a wheelchair user since. The transition to accepting and loving my new disabled body was a difficult journey, and a path I hope to make a little easier for those new to being disabled.
I hold three degrees: A Master's degree in Educational Research (Adult, Community, and Higher Education) and two Bachelor's degrees (Science & Education). I also spent 4 years competing for the Canadian National Team, winning 11 International medals and two consecutive World Championships (2010 & 2011) in canoe and kayak.
I love creating things, teaching, and learning. Being an Instructional Designer has allowed me to combine these passions into a profession that I love. I am dedicated to teaching through workshop coordination, facilitation of seminars, and providing keynote addresses. I relish in the opportunity to speak openly with others about my experiences as a designer, athlete, and disabled person. I coordinate and deliver specialized Disability Inclusion training as a piece of overall Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) training within organizations.

I also provide consultation on creating and executing fully accessible events, either in-person or online, and assistance with online event management in general.
